Company Purpose “ Established in May 1952, National Bank of Kuwait (known as: NBK) is the first local and home-grown GCC bank, and first shareholding company in Kuwait and the Arabian Gulf. NBK’s shares are listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange since 1984 with only one shareholder holding owning more than 5% of the Bank’s share capital (PIFSS owns 6.19% as of 31 March 2026). The Bank operates across 13 countries with a predominant focus on the MENA region. The Bank’s core businesses are (i) consumer banking, (ii) corporate banking, (iii) NBK Wealth (iv) international banking and (v) Islamic banking (through subsidiary Boubyan Bank).”
